Relaxed Wedding Photography in Devon
Meet Eleanor
Outdoor, coastal and countryside weddings, shot on film
If you're planning a relaxed wedding somewhere in Devon and Cornwall — on the coast, out in the countryside, or somewhere it mostly happens outdoors — you're probably not looking for a photographer who'll line everyone up for an hour of group shots.
I'm Ben. I photograph weddings across Devon and Cornwall in a documentary style: unposed, informal, and mostly out of the way. My couples tend to be the ones who say they're not good in front of a camera. That's fine — almost nobody is. When it comes to portraits I'll guide you lightly into something that feels natural, then leave you alone again.
Where I shoot
I'm based in South Devon and know this part of the county well — the South Hams, Dartmouth, Salcombe, Totnes, and up onto Dartmoor. Coastal ceremonies, countryside barns, marquees in a field, walled gardens, and elopements with six people. I've photographed at venues across the South West, and I travel throughout the UK and abroad.
Shot entirely on film
Everything I shoot is analogue — 35mm and medium format, on vintage cameras including a Leica M6. There's no filter or preset that does what film does with soft coastal light or a late afternoon in a Devon field or a Cornish beach. The colours are richer, the grain is real, and the photographs will still look like this in thirty years.
It also changes how the day feels. Film means fewer, more considered frames — not a camera firing constantly in your face.
How it works
A flexible day rate with no set start or finish time. I stay as long as the day needs. Whether it's an intimate elopement or a multi-day celebration, the approach is the same.
